Production Notes

The working title of this film was "Abbott and Costello in Africa".

Closing credits list Lou Costello's character name as "Livington" (instead of the famous Africa explorer "Livingston.")

According to a Hollywood Reporter news item On December 7, 1948, production was to stop so that Bud Abbott, Lou Costello and other members of the cast could attend funeral services for Abbott's stunt man and stand-in, Irving Gregg.

Africa Screams was the first independent production of William and Edward Nassours' company, Nasbro Productions, Inc.

Animal trainer Clyde Beatty and hunter Frank Buck, played themselves in the film, and were well-known performers with the Ringling Bros. Circus as well as stars of many films of the 1930s.
