The Kid Charlie Chaplin

The Kid Charlie Chaplin silent movie was released in 1921 and features Jackie Coogan (Uncle Fester of TV's "Adams Family") as "The Kid."

Family/Comedy - The Little Tramp finds a baby boy, gives him a home, then has the baby taken away, then finds it again. Get ready to laugh and to shed a tear.


In Chaplin's screenplay, his character the Little Tramp finds a baby (Jackie Coogan) that was kidnaped from it's mother. The Little Tramp gives the baby a home.

5 years later, the baby's mother finds her long lost child and has the authorities take the little boy from Charlie.

But the Little Tramp steals the boy back, only to have the boy returned to his mother.

Later, Charlie's Little Tramp character is reunited with the boy and the boy's mother who now lives in a mansion.


Production Notes

The Kid was budgeted at $250,000 dollars

The film took 1 year to complete under Chaplin's direction and eye for perfection.
